All I do in my free time during the spring is walk around for these bad boys. Can’t ever find any bear can sized ones like up north but these suckers taste just as good! Found a few pounds last year and am ready for this season to come back around. It’s very VERY close if thy aren’t already popping up. These cold spikes are hell.

I like these mushrooms. They do sell them dry in the oriental markets. But they are expensive.

I used to have an acquaintance who would bring me a Piggly Wiggly sack full to bursting each spring/summer early from the Illinois area! God rest his soul, I try to hunt for them now and might find 2 or 3 up here, but nothing like they would score. I just count myself lucky to pull 5 or so pounds of Chantrelles and the every so often Morrell if I'm fortunate enough while digging around.
