Looking for recommendations for a good gunsmith that can convert I Mauser to 250 Savage

I used a fellow named Lynn “DOC” Holt. His shop is known as Specialized Firearms and is now located in Carrollton, GA. He has helped me with two 1911 builds and the Mauser project. He is a Mauser expert.

Strictly my opinion: He did excellent work for me. Although he did not finish any of them in the amount of time he predicted it would take.

Mine was an FN Commercial Mauser built around 1951 and owned by my grandfather. I had it changed from 257 Roberts to 7mm-08. I do not recommend converting to any cartridge not based on the Mauser. I have lots of issues with the 7mm-08 feeding smoothly from the magazine. I regret not keeping it a 257, or converting to 7x57. The 6mm Remington, 257Roberts, 7x57, 8mm Mauser all share the same basic case profile and would work nicely. The Savage may work as well.
