Wash towels are a waste of space and weight. Carry a wash cloth and some Dr. Brommers soap. The Strikefore is the number one fire starter I see break. Just get a .5"x5" ferro rod off eBay for $4.

Back in the old days I carried a little drum of biodegradable baby wipes. Definitely worth the weight.

What is worth it's weight in gold for a long hike is a travel sized baby powder. It's amazing.

buy a waterproof container and stick a 1000 count box of matches in there. I keep around 5 new BIC lighters put up as well.
