Water pressure help

You can probably have someone walk you through whatever problems if you are inclined to make repairs. Otherwise call someone that knows what they are doing .

Another thing that goes bad and effects water pressure is the expansion tank on top of the water heater. Very easy to replace; just pressurize it to the hose pressure first with a bicycle pump.

Find the water pressure regulator plumbed in right near the water shut off where the water line comes into the house. Should look like the pic below. Get one of the gauges from home depot you attach to a hose spigot outside, as has been suggested earlier in the thread, and adjust as needed. Don't go any higher than 70-80 PSI.

Which direction do you turn to raise or lower?

BANG...they are set weak from day one in newer construction, but the front hosebib is usually the strongest and before the prv in the water line setup.

My guess would be a bad regulator, pretty simple to change out yourself and cheaper than paying a plumber.
call a professonal! Its most likely a pressure reducing valve (PRV) most new home plumbers insrall cheap PRV's. A good PRV should last 10 years depending on your city incoming pressure. Califfi make a great reglulator or at the least get a Watts 25AUB.
