We wanted a single stack 9. Instead, Glock gives us $218 reindeer gloves.

Here's a little bit of speculation, but I think its true. We will never see a single stack 9mm glock. We're talking about a company that has a different round made to accommodate a particular platform (45 GAP). There's a good reason why they're notoriously monotonous in pistol design: economics. Glock supplies an ungodly number of guns to law enforcement and military around the globe. Ultimately thats their market, and the American civilian consumer market is more or less an afterthought. If its safe to assume that us civilian consumers make up a small percentage of their overall profits, it wouldn't be good business to build a single stack 9. There wouldn't be a real niche for such in the law enforcement community, and costs of retooling to crank out slimmer slides and frames would be enormous, not to mention the R&D to make one feed with the unmatched reliability of the current platforms. A company like S&W or Ruger caters largely to civilian markets and they stand to make a great deal of money from a single stack 9, which is perhaps the ideal EDC CCW. The day a Glock single stack 9 is readily available you'll see a G23 and maybe even a J-frame listed here by retrobass, but that day will never come.
However, this theory begs the question, why in the world did they make the G36?

DB9?
I'd post a trollface but that's a bit droll i guess :p

Glocks are not the end all be all in firearms after all. They are great handguns to be certain, but plenty of other guys make sturdy single stacks (or will in the near future). No reason to limit yourself with brand myopia is what I'm trying to say.

I don't limit myself to just Glocks, but I would still like to see a good single stack 9, a larger singl .45, and a nice carbine from them. Dosen't mean I won't get other pistols too.
