So with all this rain and now the sun's finally out my back yard is ATE UP with weeds. We use a service for the front and side yards which look great but the back yard is pretty sad.

I hesitate to use chemicals because of the dogs running around back there.

So are there any pet safe chemicals that work?

Is it too late to use something like Round Up? And if I did use it - how long to keep the dogs off of it?

How about a propane torch for weed control? I bet I could get my boys to use that - as long as they didn't set everything on fire in between.

Other than hands and knees pulling weeds anyone have any suggestions?

FWIW,I wouldn't spray until the winds die down and a nice sunny calm day,Most of the stuff available to homeowners dries in an hour or two and then your dogs will be fine as long as they have dry paws for the day(usually OK,never had problems).I'd avoid the torch unless you want dead spots in early spring.Next yr before January, put out a pre-emergent,that will help a lot.I just put out my spring application (granular) earlier this week. You should keep that in mind,(4 times a yr) to really keep the weeds under control. You can sprays this now and follow up with some Anime

Agree on weed and feed roundup will kill everything and weeds will be back in 2 weeks. Weed and feed will just kill most weeds. Needs to be watered in or rained on after application.

We ain't been having a lack of rain, man I'm glad the sun is shining. lol
