Weigh your can when new so you have a reference point.

You could just look up the weight but using your own scales will give you an better reference point.

Interesting read. I wonder how much buildup my Harvester has. However, it has not seen 12,800 rounds of use.

My 22 can (an AAC Pilot from 2006-7) looks like a sewer pipe. You can't really see a defined baffle at all. I weighed it once a number of years ago and it had like 6 ounces of lead in it. It's still very quiet.

My Spectre II is cleaned after every couple hundred rounds or good range trip. I've popped lead "C"'s off of baffles before; but have never dipped it. My TiRant45 is still in good shape (just cleaned it). I guess I need to figure out a good way to clean sealed 30 cal cans.

A little buildup is good.

It's like a stainless steel sink. The nice ones have some coatings sprayed on the back. Helps deaden the sound.
