Weigh your suppressors.

My 22 can (an AAC Pilot from 2006-7) looks like a sewer pipe. You can't really see a defined baffle at all. I weighed it once a number of years ago and it had like 6 ounces of lead in it. It's still very quiet.

My Spectre II is cleaned after every couple hundred rounds or good range trip. I've popped lead "C"'s off of baffles before; but have never dipped it. My TiRant45 is still in good shape (just cleaned it). I guess I need to figure out a good way to clean sealed 30 cal cans.
 
A little buildup is good.

It's like a stainless steel sink. The nice ones have some coatings sprayed on the back. Helps deaden the sound.
