Weird chrono results

From the records I've kept, Shooters World Heavy Pistol is re-packaged Lovex D037.2.

This is a ball propellant. Can't see from your photos which (if either) are ball propellants, but if one of them isn't - that could be a reliable indicator that they're different.
It’s hard to tell in the picture but the one that’s darker in color on top looks exactly like the one in your link. I think I have 2 completely different powders here. Must have got put in the wrong jug or wrong label one.

I still wouldn't trust that because they look the same that they ARE the same :)

They may not be in the wrong jug. One may have been made at a different time. Powders change from time to time. You can just keep separate data for each jug.

FYI: it is easier to get consistent results for “light loads” with faster powders.

Unique, Universal, W231, #5 and 800x all work well.

Yeah I was just trying this out because it’s a good price and thought it could work. Idk I’ll do some more testing and make sure I rule myself out as well. I’m not going for a really light load but just wanting some good range loads that aren’t wrist breakers.

How far were you from the chronograph? Muzzle blast can throw off the results if you are too close in higher pressure cartridges. Also, sun position in the sky, shadows can affect the readings if they change in a set.

My experience is if u want lighter magnum loads, you need faster burning powder.

Magnum powders likes it in the higher range of max for full effectiveness. I wouldn’t use magnum powder and make it a light load

For my 500sw, I’ve use titegroup for exactly that reason.
