I shot some .44 mags I loaded up this weekend and my second string with a different charge weight came out with inconsistent results on my chronograph. I’m not sure if I did something wrong while charging the cases or what. I’m still fairly new to reloading as I’ve only been doing it for 3 years. I’m trying for a lighter magnum load.

The powder I’m using is shooters world heavy pistol. Suppose to be the same as accurate #9. Any of you have experience with this powder? On their website it says it can be reduced for less than full power loads.

Ok so I just dipped these out of 2 different containers of the same powder. Could this be my issue? 2 different lots of the same powder. I’m worried now.

Thanks guys for the help. I think my problem is the powder. I have 2 pounds of this stuff and each sample I dipped out looks different. The color and grain size is different between the 2 pounds of the SAME powder. I’m lucky I didn’t blow my gun up. I have never had this issue before. I’ve contact the manufacturer to see what they can do will report when I hear back. This sucks.

From the records I've kept, Shooters World Heavy Pistol is re-packaged Lovex D037.2.

This is a ball propellant. Can't see from your photos which (if either) are ball propellants, but if one of them isn't - that could be a reliable indicator that they're different.
