One of my buddies wants to put a decent muzzle break on his AR and he’s open to a lot of them, some having different thread patterns, since he has so many extra, like his ak one. Then as we were conversating the question came up, “if you use a thread adapter for trying out different breaks with more eaze, is that illeagl”

Muzzle devices like compensators and flash hiders aren't NFA items. Yall are good to go. If you have a thread adapter for some solvent trap crap good luck!

I mean he’s trying to put his 308 breaks on his 556, and I know they sell those muzzle breaks that adapt pretty much from 556 to 308, and it seems super shady, but is it wrong

That’s what I thought, simple enough, obviously don’t put anything ON it your not supposed to and your good. He’s was saying it’s bad if you have it and a solvent trap or whatever those things are and they are in the same place, it’s like still a destructive device kinda concept

Why does that seem super shady? A waste of time yes, shady no. Read reviews, watch testing videos, then stick with an A2 FH for a defensive gun or put a Jerry Miculek break on for a competition gun. Problem solved.
