Better than December or January. Chinook winds come up at the end of January and it warms up. It is also when the real big snow comes. Winter of 96 had a week of 12-18" of snow OVERNIGHT every night in Anchorage in February.Anchorage in February...
And he'll keep studed tires on till May.

My brother moved from San Francisco to Anchorage Alaska, this summer he moved outside the Air Force base. He is loving life in Alaska. I wish you luck.
Not really. But keep telling yourself that.
OTOH- The summers are beautiful. We went on a Aug. Inside Passage cruise while on leave one year (I wanted to get as far away on the planet from Iraq as I could). And it made me want to move there. So you going then, it will only get better
(before it gets worse again).
