Well fellas, my days in Ga are numbered... I'm moving to Alaska!

Yeah, for the first couple of years I wanted to stay in the city. But coming from a 2/2 in riverdale to a 3/2 with 2car garage and a view... I'm cool with that.
My dream of course is a remote cabin in Alaska..... where I would most likely die of starvation the first winter.

Thanks guys!

From Riverdale to Alaska. Wow talk about culture shock! How will you sleep not hearing sirens going off all night?

Again, if you have any questions, PM me. It is a big deal, but you'll love it. MAKE SURE TO DO ALL THE TOURISTY STUFF WHILE YOU ARE THERE. I lived there for 25 years, and my biggest regret is not getting around and doing more stuff while I was there. The mointains and moose will wear off, eventually, but go to Denali, Chena hot springs, Juneau, take a barge to the Panhandle, drive to Valdez to the Pipeline terminal, go to chocolate factory on Old Seward, climb the Flattop and Bird's point, hike the Crow Pass.
Now you made me really homesick......
Don't forget about the peninsula. Glaciers fishing the Kenai river Kodiak island the Homer spit. Alaska is an outdoor paradise. Have fun good luck and God Bless.

Are you looking in town or Valley?
If town, Do not buy anything in Fairview, Mountan View, northern Muldoon. Look in Sand Lake, Jewel Lake, Ocean View areas. Some areas around Old Seward and Dimond are OK. Lower Hillside will be cheaper than higher up, and you will be less likely to get snowed in. South New and Old Seward are good.
If in Valley, stay away from Butte. GA rednecks have nothing on Alaskan rednecks. I have a pic of a house in Butte that had 3 different shades of plywood and 4 different color/age tarps. It was a 2 story house, not a double-wide.
Enjoy it, and I envy you immensly. I want to move back home.
On another hand, you have 3 more months of snow left......
If you are looking for a church, PM me. My old congregation was VERY well armed during Sunday services. Good, solid Biblical teaching too.
PS from the pic, it looked like the northern Best Buy by Glenn Higway. That area was a gangland central when I was there, maybe still is. Be carefull there. Your GA permit is good, untill you get Alaskan residency.
