Dang man! Sounds like your attacks were worse than mine up until my last one that damn near killed me.I just had my first blood test for the syndrome about a month ago, although I've had Alpha Gal for over 10 years now. My beef rating was over 10, and my pork rating was over 5 (lamb was over 3, but I don't consume it ever). The strange part is that I can safely eat pork and have been able to all along. It seems that red meat (and I'm including venison although I don't know if the test includes it) has been my only nemesis. My reactions are so severe that I wouldn't wish one on my worst enemy (if I had one)! The symptoms always begin around 4 hrs. after I would consume the beef, which always started as a severe stinging/itching sensation in my ear canals, and on my lower back/buttocks, which were then immediately followed by a severe outbreak of hives on several areas of my chest and lower torso/legs. As they would slowly subside I would then develop extremely severe deep chest pains (which I think is some type of internal inflammation) that almost always lead to severe vomiting which can last for hours. The process is very slow to subside and has always left me in an extremely weakened condition. I will get tested again next year, and unless my rating is less than .5 I will most likely never consume red meat again. I am thankful that I can safely eat all types of pork but I always have to ask when I eat out whether certain items contain beef, and if they can't prove it I just pass on it. I have come to love ground turkey breast over this time and use it in place of ground beef in all of our meals at home. It's a hassle to have the virus, but definitely not something to be taken lightly, could be a life and death situation if I'm not cautious...........
Before that one, my attacks were somewhat mild. I would know one was coming on because the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet would get red splotches and start itching like crazy.
A few minutes after that, the red hives would come up under my armpits and then spread all over my torso and down my legs. The itching was INSANE and the more you scratched, the worse it itched.
Then the diarrhea would set in. You better be pretty close to a bathroom or you'd be throwing your underwear away because that **** was NOT going to wait! LOL
Typically an episode would only last about 20 minutes for me and when it was over and I'd feel fine afterwards.
It's interesting that your allergist gave you different numbers for the different types of meat. Mine just said I was at 3.4
Maybe that was all the different types of meats averaged together to give me one number? I'll have to call and ask them about that.

(DON'T try it!)
