Yeah the old proxy sites. Used to use them in high school to get on Facebook lol. Hey I thought I was smart knowing about proxy sites at the time lol

Most time you can use google translator or.babelfish

One of the language translator sites where you put in the URL of the site you want translated

Just Set it to translate English to english and pop in the website and you can browse the site that's blocked because the translator site is not blocked

Then there is always Tor, it can be used with Firefox as an extension and turned on and off as needed.
