What are you reading these days?

In High School I made extra money selling book reports in English class until the teacher caught on to it. I told people to copy them in their handwriting but no they had to turn in the one I wrote and she figgered it out. That was good money in high school.
 
If you like 'Hard boiled' noir, you might want to look a James Ellroy. Best-known for trilogies or quartets that are constructed as a kind of parallel history, but he also has some stand-alone books.

The "American Tabloid" series circles around the JFK years primarily on the East Coast.
The "LA Quartet" is LA Cops and Hollywood in the 40's-70's.
