What are your thoughts on pocket carry?

I've got a couple EDC depending on how I'm dressed. My summer carry is usually my 642 in my front pocket and a speed strip in the other. Just easier to carry that way in cargo shorts. But always use a pocket holster! Keeps it upright in your pocket and covers the bang switch.

You tie the cord to a belt loop and just draw the gun from your pocket. As you pull the gun the trigger cover just pops off.

It's got a length of paracord on the bottom. Tie that to your belt loop, belt, etc. It will remove itself during draw/presentation.

LCP back pocket everywhere. My main is a Dan Wesson CCO but whether I carry that or not I always got my back pocket gun.

I really love and have owned/currently own Kimber pistols but IMHO, I would avoid the Kimber Solo. I had the SOLO for a few weeks and sold it due to FTF and FTE; I shot and tested multiple types of ammunition and did not find the weapon to be reliable. The form factor of the pistol is perfect for a CCW but as much as I tried, I couldn't love it. All of this being said, I have a friend that owns a gun store and he swears by them. FWIW - If you are interested in a Kimber, I would recommend looking at the ULTRA CARRY II, nice compact form factor, very reliable, single stack .45, I have no problem concealing the weapon without printing and I would definitely depend on it!

The Kimber Solo does have a reputation for only liking the heavier loads, like 147 grain.
I don't own one but know a few that do (have) and noted the same concerns that you state.

Yep, I carried a Kimber Ultra for 8 years shot over 600 rounds through it with no problem. Solo I had I carried it a couple months but like you said I could get myself to trust it. Too picky.

I believe in pocket carry, but I have yet to find a true pocket gun that I really like, unless you consider a S&W snubnose .38 Airweight a pocket gun. It is for me, sometimes, but I usually keep it IWB. The butt barely sticks out over the waistline and it is very comfortable in comparison to some others. No print whatsoever. I use a Desantis IWB holster that is excellent. I carry it more than any other gun these days, and not only because it is light and easy. It is also a good little gun and accurate, so I feel fairly confident with it. Would I rather carry my G19? For capacity, yes, definitely. For anything else, not necessarily. The 19 is probably a bit more accurate but I can shoot this little revolver quite well, by my standards. The double action trigger is nice too, for a double action. A speed loader in the pocket is also easy. That's my current take on it. YMMV and in due time mine will too. I'm sure of it.

I personally prefer my S&W 37 over most other edc guns I possess. It’s easy to conceal and to carry, as you said. It’s not gonna have a ftf/fte or ”jam” from “limp-wristting”. On occasions I carry my Kahr CM9, but more confident with the Smith Airweight.

If I pocket carry something the size you are, it's always in a holster. BlackHawk pocket holsters are cheap enough and seem to last. My wife is using the same one from 4 years ago. Everyday.

I carry this in my pocket on weak side. All day, every day. No holster though. View attachment 815822

I carry one everywhere a up close last resort but 22mag is mean round or smith 442 38 good pocket gun

I like pocket pistols. I carry a Double Tap 45ACP. Same size and weight as a P238 at 15oz. And a S&W 360PD, 11oz 357. If you can find one, they made a 10oz, 38spl. Model 337PD
