What brands of AR to avoid?

Heard somewhere that alot of receivers were manufactured by just a few (5) companies and marked for the company selling them. Anybody else heard this? I realize Final fit and finish does vary, as well as barrel & guts quality.

Colt, Danial Defense. I you have the cash hold out and wait on the right deal... Someone will get one in soon. Cylde Armory is a good place to keep a watchful eye on. Don't buy junk. Hod out for a Mil Spec weapon. Craziness will die down soon.

If you want to get one now, you're going to have to shop hard to avoid being raped. I would tell you to build one or have a qualified person assemble one for you, but the lack of available bolt carrier groups makes that hard right now. Your best bet for a complete gun right now is to keep a very close eye on the local dealers and Academy.

I have literally had them all and it boils down to preference and price. Some are made better than others, but if you are just plinking most, if not all, will do. I took a frontier poly lower with a DPMS upper in on trade back in the summer. I decided to use it as a truck gun since I think I had about $300 in it. Shot the crap out of it during the summer and even added a slidefire to it for a while. I made it a mission to try and break it (full disclosure-I did in a sense and had to replace lpk with a DD kit), but the actual lower receiver never failed. Still broke down under the seat of my truck in a bag. Probably will never get rid of it because of what I have in it, but if the SHTF, I am still grabbing my DD V5.
