What can you do with old catalytic converters?

I have heard an individual cannot take it to the scrap yard. The map fI have heard an individual cannot take it to the scrap yard. The muffler places are licensed, but I am hearing that they’re selling on the black market and I guess you’re paying fairly good for these guys to be stealing them

I’ve got 3 of them and I’m about to just trash em. Not worth the hassle.

You have to have a current business license. At the scrap yard I used. Price has been great to almost nothing

I have known several mechanics that keep them u til they get a few then sell them to recycle. I have done the same when I was in the auto repair biz.
Just have to find someone that will buy them without making you jump through hoops if you aren’t a certified tech/shop.

there's a guy on craigslist that buys them. I tried to sell a few at recycle place and they wouldn't take them because of theft......

Yes...the FORD dealer will buy chevies for scrap price.....

Don't know if they will buy or just take them as scrap, but it's worth a phone call.
