Seriously, get a good pellet gun. Since they're in your yard I'm assuming they'd be in close range. Pellets will get them to change their mind pretty quick.

Gwinnett County is not a city limits, its a county, only state reg is 50 yards from a public road for shooting, (unless your hoa has no shooting in its book if insane subdivision laws) so if u shoot it, make it a head shot so it won't yelp or run off. Or, get a Bow or Crossbow and skewer it yelping or not, it was attacking the kid or wife if trouble comes knocking.
