What do you know about tire pressure sensors?

So here's some info that may or may not be of interest to you. Most every vehicle after 2006 have TPMS. The vast majority are in the stem. When breaking the bead of a tire with TPMS you spin the tire 180* and break the bead on the opposite side as to not damage the TPMS sensor. It's just plastic and they break very easily. Well on a very small percentage of vehicle the TPMS still uses the band sensor method which believe it or not is 180* away from the valve stem. With this being what it is, if a new technician see's a new car and knows it should have TPMS doesn't recognize that the wheel has a band sensor instead of a stem sensor it is almost a guarantee they will spin it 180* and break the bead on the band sensor side and will 9 times out of 10 shatter the sensor immediately.
