never understood why, when meeting a stranger for a gun transaction, a seller would want to exchange info. that's just proof you sold your gun to a felon. always sounded better to me that the Buyer would be more interested in a bill of sale or see ID during a transaction.

I think I've only asked to see one once or twice, when I couldn't get a feel for someone in the selling/buying process and they had little or no feedback. I usually do show mine though, especially if I'm buying a handgun, and I've found lots of ODT-ers do the same.

I'm guessing if you got convicted of a felony they would seize your carry permit just like they seize a drivers license for a DUI. The fact that it's still in your wallet speaks well that you probably aren't a prohibited person.
