Whats up with the lack of Barbers in Atlanta?

When I was growing up in CT and MA, there was a barber on the corner. Pizza place, Liquor store, local grocery, barber, all in a line.

I used to pay $11 bucks a haircut, and the Sal raised his prices to $13, and then $17 (this was 2007). My Dad still goes to Sal. Sal didnt wash, he didnt take appointments, you came in sat down and waited your turn. He cut your hair, and you got to bull**** with Sal for 10 minutes. You got up, paid and left, said g-bye to the other 3-4 guys waiting. It was on the way home, so if there wasnt a line, score, you grabbed a quick haircut.

I cant find a Barber in ATL to save my life, had to go the f-ing salon and paid $60. Some hot chick give me a shoulder massage (wtf?) and then washes, and cuts and dries. Not saying I dont like a hot chick rubbing my shoulders, but I dont really need to spend $60 unless she's giving me a lap dance too.

Where have all the Barbers gone? What do you guy do?

Gene's barbershop in Smyrna. 15 bucks and you get to bs with Gene for 10 mins while he cuts your hair...

He's on Atlanta rd just north of Windy Hill Rd. Great guy.
