What have you been reading?

I just finished the first of Larry Correia's "Monster Hunter International" books and I went out and bought the second one last night.

It was pretty well written with a decent plot-line, lots of cool guns, and a kind of different take on monsters in general.

On the downside the characters are a bit one dimensional, but that's the hardest thing for a new writer, and I've heard that gets better farther into the series.

Over all it was a fun book to read, not too deep but really enjoyable. These would actually make a decent TV show, except of course they are full of good guys with guns, they are politically uncorrect, and they ridicule the government mercelicessly. Er, never mind...

Just finished Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' series. Wasn't interested when they were originally coming out, but my brother in law recommended them, and I found all seven books on eBay for $25. Read them all in about two months and was blown away. Very good read, and IMO rivals Tolkien's LOTR.

Kind of amazing books. His "Lord of the Rings"... Too bad King is such an anti-gun tool. "The Stand" is probably one of the best fiction books ever written.

The Stand was pretty good

Yea, he's a pretty good writer.
I've noticed the he mixes what you know to be true, with what is then for plausible.
And before you know it, he sucks you in.
Salems Lot, one of his first was really good too.
Jeez, I guess I've read about everything he's written, come to think about it.
