What is it with people on the roads?

My insurance DOUBLED when I moved to Atlanta after 40 years with USAA. Their only explanation was that "Well, you moved to Atlanta". Now I know why. Answer me this. What causes the nicest people in the country to become complete dickheads when they get behind the wheel of their car in Atlanta? I don't get it.

I watched a special on this a few weeks ago. Apparently there is some statistic that around 60% of people are angry when they are driving. I have been cut off, brake checked, then had the person hold the door for me going into the gas station. It is a crazy world we live in.

Having lived in what are arguably the three WORST traffic areas in the country (South Florida, Chicago, Atlanta), I came to the realization that has really helped my blood pressure. While I don't get it, I just realize now that everyone else's time in the same crappy traffic is for some strange reason apparently more valuable than mine.
