What is the point of this on your pistol?

Apparently CZ includes this bayonet on some pistol models? What is it good for or is there even a purpose other than trying to make it more scary looking?

Me too, but there are ODT members who have posted about firing warning shots and carrying with an empty chamber thinking the sound of the round being chambered will scare someone away, so I'm sure these are bought by someone.
