This is a very fast growing, gets very tall, yet easy to chop down bush that I am curious what it is called. It came out of nowhere two months ago and has taken over alongside my driveway. The reason I have not chopped it down is that it hides my neighbor's [actually another subdivision] nasty back yard and patio from my sight and also keeps them from viewing me every time I open my garage doors or am active on that side of my house. Any horticulturists in the audience ? Thanks.

Poke weed. Poke salad it’s edible if cooked rite.
Outstanding. I have heard of Poke salad all of my life and even Poke Salad Annie in the song, but never knew what it looked like. I like my salads and greens, but will pass on this one. Much appreciated.
Yes sir. It is poisonous!! Iv been eating it all my life, my grandmother used to make it rite. Taste like spinach. You pick the leaves of young plants and cook it. but definitely don’t just go out and pick some and eat it.
Thanks for the cautions on it being poisonous. No problem. While browsing for more information, I saw where a guy on eBay is selling 3 lb bags of the root for $23. I can make a fortune. It keeps returning each year. LOL. Thanks.

Gotta cook em down 2-4 times .. rinsing them every time.. then scramble with eggs.. awesome .. taste like spinach
When they first appeared they had very pretty, fresh light green leaves. I am sure that must be when you pick them for cooking. Thanks.
