What is with the "Must Shoot It Before Buy It" stuff?

Depends on the type weapon & how far away from home it is. Less than an hour drive..I can drive back to your house if there's an issue. 2-3..or more hours away...I'm going to at least bring a couple of Snap Caps,or 2-3 rounds of ammo to see it fire/cycle/eject..and I will ask this ahead of time. If you aren't willing to fire it,with me watching(I don't care WHO'S doing the shooting,I just want to see the damn thing function!)..YOU can keep it! This used, often worn-out,stuff on here is sold " AS IS" meaning I am S.O.L. should something be wrong, whereas if I buy from a gun store...they will stand behind it,therefore I don't NEED to see it fire/function before purchasing. If I'm selling, show me the $$ & we'll fire off a few rounds,No problem. Sleepr71

I have to be more than convinced its a done deal. Basically ill let you shoot after we make the deal so you can confirm that everything functions as ive told the buyer/trader. I get why someone would want to shoot a gun before ways are parted, but the money better damn well be almost in my hand lol

I can't believe someone would do that... not to mention 'not having the cash together' Unbelievable.

I guess this is going to be another show-me-the-money situation if anyone ever asks me for something similar.

A test fire does not seem unreasonable to me given the circumstances.(cheep guns or home builds) But it must be agreed upon by both party's that after x number of rounds fired, and it preforms as it should, its a done deal. Strictly a function check. Or am i just an over privileged young adult that has no business trading firearms.
By no means a new staple but not unreasonable.
