What kind of knife is this?

Is it ok to yell at yourself for asking such a stupid question?

It is 9-7/8” long and it does have an edge to it. I didn’t want to disagree with CAD either, but it does seem to be more of a knife than a spreader. That is on me or the bad images! It is 1/8” tapering to what may have been a point. I really do think it was a cutting instrument….. originally
anyway!!!
I guess from the shape, if it did have a good edge, it may be an old skinning Knife.

1/8" thick seems much too thick for an ordinary "spreader" knife (that's why I asked). I'm guessing a repurposed blade or a modified skinner as Maggie mentioned. Back in the real using days none were just tossed due to a broken tip. Think I'd just do a gentle cleanup and leave as much of the hard gained patina intact as possible.
