What kind of slugs for regular Mossberg 500?

I have a regular, non rifled 20" barrel on my Mossy 500. I don't know what slugs to run through it because I know they come rifled slug or regular I guess. Anyone know?

this is the way i've always done it, and i promise someone will correct me if i'm wrong.....rifled slugs for rifled barrels and sabot slugs for smooth bore

I use Remington rifled deer slugs in my 500. They seem to do just fine.

Actually it is the opposite. Sabot slugs are designed to grab the rifling in the bore to impart spin, rifled slugs are designed to spin from air pressure in flight on the rifling molded into the slug.

Rifled slugs for smooth bore and sabot slugs for rifled bore. I learned the hard way...........sabot rounds not hardly accurate in a smooth bore!

Winchester makes some of the most affordable high velocity 1 ounce rifled slugs. Take a look at them.

That some good info to know, I can honestly say I've never even thought about the difference, I've just shot whatever was at hand.
