What kind of slugs for regular Mossberg 500?

I love "Remington Managed-Recoil slugger" for practicing. It is a 1oz rifled slug 1200 fps but a lot more enjoyable for multiple shots at the range. Think it has 40% less recoil. They also make a high velocity round 1800 fps 7/8 oz rifled slug that is advertised to shoot better groups at distance.

I have a question: Since sabot slugs are designed for a rifled barrel and rifled slugs are designed for smooth-bore barrels, is there any downside to firing a rifled slug from a rifled barrel?

cant remember the make, but there is a slug that says on the box its designed only for use through a rifled slug barrel. not for smoothbores. im sure someone will know which one it is though lol.

The main thing is leading of the rifling and the accuracy will not be as consistent as it would be with a slug designed for a rifled barrel.

Glad this is new info for some people. Does anyone have a recommendation for LOW brass slugs or 00? I had some Remington 00 buck but it was high brass and didn't cycle in my gun correctly. The timing was a little off and shells dropped out of the bottom.
