Worksharp Ken onion with the blade grinding attachment. Takes about 3 minutes to resharpen something once you've profiled it.

I use a KME system. It does a fantastic job and is the only system that can do a convex edge also (aside from belts obviously).

Razors
Norton synthetic waterstones and then natural stones for finishing the edge.
Strop on fabric and DIY bridle leather strop.


Dad usually just used a soft ark. For knives that is all you need unless you want something to refine the edge or something really coarse to remove chips in the edge. People have gotten obsessed with mirror edges that will literally whittle hair. Cardboard box or a dead deer don't care!

Stones.. It is a ritual about every weekend at our cabin will pour a nice single malt scotch. Get a few knives lined up, and about the time the blades are honed, it is time for another scotch..
