What the heck is this?

If you don't know what it is or how to use it and there is no one making an offer to buy it from you. Its JUNK! Recycle it or throw it away.

I've sat in front of this computer toooooo long. I can't believe I'm jumping in on this thread, and this thread is still going. Cabin Fever is running high. Ok, here goes. It's a simple door or drawer latch that attaches to a lockset for locking off an old metal cabinet or desk drawer, maybe off an old fire proof file cabinet. It's a latch of some kind. I've been in the office supply/machine business for 33 years, and seen a bunch of similar pieces over the years. Think about your teachers old metal desk that was manufactured in the 50's or 60's. Maybe that old cabinet that supplies were kept in at school or any old government building. They were built to last back then. Now, we think an old piece of aluminum from an old lockset is a high-tech widget?
