So, I'm going camping in an area with known black bear and feral hog activity in the campground. My ONLY caliber options are a .38 revolver, a .45 Glock and a .223 AR-style pistol. Are any of them useful in my situation, or should just leave them in the safe? Since I've never encountered either animal before, much less killed one, your input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd worry more about the people in the campground. You generally only have issues with a bear or hog if you surprise and/or corner them. The only other potential problem is if people are feeding and/or leaving easy to get food for the bears.
