What year/base did you go through bootcamp?

Ft Dix, summer of 84.

Me and 7 southerners vs the rest of the company from the Bronx, where the Judge said "Army or jail".

Still have 2 fast friends from those days of "Freedom Field" and the "Paragon Trail".....

Ft. Jackson, Summer 1983. I swear there was frost on the ground on the 4th of July when we ran PT.
The barracks were "old Hollywood", tank hill was fading away if I recall correctly.

When I ETS'd I went through Ft Jackson again. The senior drill instructor at "old hollywood" asked me to give a "stirring speech, like 'Patton' " . He wanted to impress on the youngsters that they could succeed in the Army and that we DID make a difference.

George C Scott could probably have done better, but, hey, I brought down the Berlin Wall!
