Parris Island, S.C. 1971 and we called our Drill Instructor sir.

If you did that in the army you would have gotten a pisses off DS in your face and probably have pushed-till-u-puked.

First thing you hear in the Marines is this, "welcome to Paris island Marine corps recruit depot, the first word and last word out of your filthy sewers will be sir! Do you maggots understand me!?" Difference between drill sgts and drill instructors as night and day in a lot of areas, but they are all evil lol.
