What year was my Marlin "Remington" 336 made?

I've looked to find the year of manufacture on my rifle and can't find out. What I've found only shows that it's a Marlin Remington. Any information or links on this will be greatly appreciated

Starting in 1973, the year of manufacture can be determined by subtracting the first two digits of the serial number from 100: Example: SN 2512345 would have been made in 1975 [100 - 25 = 75].

Thanks but this does not appear to apply to the Marlins made by Remington. My serial number starts with MR

You gotta go by the date code on the barrel. Not the serial number. I have the chart. Let me see if I can find it

You have been a great help with your chart. My barrel is stamped on the left side with AJJ, I'm assuming the JJ is a double strike

Possibly. Never seen that before. You could always call them tomorrow. Let us know what they say
