What's the Best Budget 1911 to get started with??

I have had several RIA's and never had a problem from any of them! Best quality for the money your looking to spend. I now have a Dan Wesson CCO but I still would buy another RIA to plink with or maybe add some custom stuff just to build one lol You will be hooked once you start shooting one!

also, do not overlook the american classic II line from metro-arms importers. now that they somewhat have a folowing, they can be had new for less than $600. all the external upgrades and an extremly nice trigger.

the american classics are another phillipean made 1911.

I've owned both RIA CS and Citadel Compact as my first 1911s. Recommend either one, the RIA won't let you down.
But with both, it didnt take long before I was ready to move up to a higher quality 1911.
My gunsmith recommended stainless 1911s. Since then, I've been very happy with the Colt Commander XSE stainless for the range, and the Kimber Ultra II stainless for CCW.

Personally, I can't stand the guady writing on the ATIs slide and frame. JMO.

Only thing I like about ATI, is that they make a true Commander 1911 (4.25" with a bushing).
