that's not saying much, I've watched the gun store tell numerous people they'd get a Kimberly as a range piece, not a carry. To me even the TIA felt cheaply made, once you field strip one and look inside, it looks like a toy.Best for the money is the Cetadel compact. Its a better (IMO) version of the RIA's. You can get one for $500 at Academy. Check'em out. I owned one and it was more reliable than my kimber.

Regent/Umarex. Very nicely put together and tight fit.That is the IAC Regent 1911A1. $350 is a great price.
I'd pick up a $300-$350 Llama to see if a 1911 is for you. Not a huge investment and you could get your money back if you hated the platform.
