Why I like gun shows.. Guy walks in with a S&W Model 36.. I approched him as he cleard "customs".. Asked what ya got there.. A 38 he said.. How much ? and the $250 response was a great deal.. Shame on me, I offer $200 and he said yes.. Picked up a Winchester Model 61 a few weeks ago the same way $150. Sorry, not for sale..
Bought a like new Glock 38 with night sights and 700 rounds of ammo (250 Winchester Ranger HPs) for $450. Sold most of the ammo for $225. Shot what I had left. Sold the gun for $475. Smiled. Felt dirty.
30 years ago I stopped at a yard sale and picked up a little .410 break action shotgun (H&R - Higgins ?) for $25. Didn't have the money for the Marlin .22 they had (also $25). Anyway, cleaned it up and eurethaned the stock and it looked like new. Gave it to my son for Christmas as his first gun. He shot way more than $25 in ammo thru it. He still has it in his safe along with 3 AR's, 2 Glocks, couple 10/22's, my grandma's S&W .32, and his Colt lightweight commander duty weapon.
