What's the craziest ammo prices you remember from the last shortage?

My father-in-law paid $65 for twenty rounds of 9mm hollow points. I didn't pay too much, but I did get in line to make #2 or 3 at Academy..... It's funny, as the kids were talking about that **** the other day.

I could tell some stories but might wind up even more hated than I am now.

Suffice it to say that I too was once a price whiner, moaning about the neckbeards buying up all the 22, now I am one. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

They provide a service. When you don't have time to stand in line at the big box stores to get your "allocation" pay the man who does.
It's funny how capitalists were as hated then as communists are now.

Black Talons even now are priced outrageous .
folks at gun shows paying $100 for a brick of 22 LR.
i stocked up before Obongo got in office, never had to panic buy.
never sold any ! Gave some away!

Try buying a new box of black talon labeled black talons, and tell me that they’re priced outrageously.

I've seen the prices , they are outrageous !!!
i blew alot of money away in the early 90's shooting those things.
they were in high demand years ago, not so much now.

Winchester Ranger T-Series is what Black Talon is today.

Black Talon is a collector item, much like the WW2 1911, that were dirt cheap "back in the day".

But honestly, Black Talon were never that great of a SD choice. Gold Dots and Hydra-Shok are better of the same time period.

I don't understand the logic in carrying a 30 plus years old defensive round.

But the boxes do look good for the gram.
