What's the difference in a Remington model 6 vs a 760 or 7600?

I realize the 7600 is the newer version of the 760, but my dad has been looking for a 7600 & in my GB search for a 7600 I came across a model 6. Is this a shorter carbine version of the 7600? If so, what's the barrel length vs 22" barrel on a 7600.

The model six (1981-1988) came in three grades. "Slide-action", "Peerless" (which has an engraved receiver), and "Premium" (which has gold inlay on the receiver). They all were 22" barrels.

Thanks, looks like they introduced it about the same time as the 7600. Not a lot of difference.
