Couple years ago I had to sell my Steyr AUG A3 NATO.. Had one guy offer me a Wasr10 plus $100, another guy offered me a broken trailer with some other mind numbing useless crap.. By far the 2 most insulting offers I have ever received. Funny thing was I ended up selling it for my asking price to a CL person..

A couple of years ago when I was diagnosed with Cancer, I put my 2005 Polaris Sportsman 700 up for sale here and got offers for broken jet skis(only needs a few parts and will run like new) and lawn mowers to a multi gun trade that total value was about $650( one rifle had no bolt, he couldn't find it). One guy offered to pay asking price if I would deliver it to Orlando......I did get some decent offers from others, but ended up keeping it and now I am glad I did. I am back hunting again. I had a P95 Ruger with ammo, holster and extra magazine I sold here for my asking price, but I had offers to trade for Zebco fishing poles to speaker boxes to a case of .22LR...it turned out the "case" was a brick of 500 rounds....lol I have to say the ridiculous offers came from people with no feedback and a very short history on this site.

OK, a follow up then . . . What is a "reasonable" offer? I see things I would like to have, but might want to offer a few dollars less (everyone wants to feel they got a good deal, right?).

What is a reasonable offer, if not full price??

Guess I should start a new thread for this one, right? Think I will . . .

Reasonable would be 87% - 93% of what they are asking for (monetarily speaking). With the exception of the elusive "great price" ex. Gen 3 G22 for $225, then you pay 100% of what they're asking, because, depending on who you ask that gun is worth anywhere between $350 - $700.

In cases of "golden guns" ex. OD Glocks, you offer them a value based on the equation of [market price(new)/sellers price x what you think it's worth] x 1.3.

I don't even remember what I had listed but pretty sure it was a pistol of some sort. Someone offered me a weekend at a timeshare cabin in the North Ga Mtns for it. I LIVE on Lake Blue Ridge in the North Ga Mtns...wouldn't have been much of a get away :)
