We didn't have a lot of money growing up, and I had friends who were worse off. One day I was riding around with one of them and we stopped at the gas station. I didn't have any money. He went in and came out with 2 Mountain Dews and handed me one. I told him I didn't have any money to pay him back...he said he didn't expect me to pay him. As broke as he was, he still bought me a drink out of pure kindness. As strange as it sounds, that moment was a real eye-opener for me and a strong, strong lesson. That was around 1990ish.
Money may be tight some days, but I'll bring in breakfast for the guys or whatever...I used to be tight with my money but now I think, is that $5, $10, whatever, really gonna break me or make me not be able to pay my bills? No, it's not.
