I've mounted this vortex on my rem 700 with a 1 piece EGW rail and as I always do I level the scope with the receiver. Everything is showing level but when I shoulder the gun the cross hair is canted to the left?? Pic posted below can't get it to spin around straight though

The last step I've always done when mounting a scope is to back way up from it and check to see that the verticle crosshair is in fact in line with the rifle. If you hold the rifle out where your eye is at the end of the stock, you can see it. Here's my ruger 10/22 for example.

Those "Caldwell I think" levels never worked to well for me. Last one I did had an express sight base on the barrel. Balanced a short level, around 6 to 8 inches there and on the scope, and it worked great. The unsymmetrical lever never agreed with the carpenters level.

It very well could be how you shoulder the rifle. This is why good shotguns are adjustable for "cast".

Try this. Bench the gun with one of the levels on it and when it is level look through the gun without pulling it tight to your shoulder. Then slowly bring your shoulder to the gun and tuck in. I would bet that the crosshairs "move" as you settle in.

Not a dig at you or anything- but I'd rather have it level to my eye than whatever those bubbles are supposed to be telling me.

I get a new scope somewhat close at home and then actually get the eye relief and "straightness" set at the range when I can get behind the scope and see a 100 yard target.

Dial1911, I would do that but this gun is gonna be set up to shoot 500+ yards and even a small amount out of line can throw the bullet trajectory off. Also, I did remove the pad cheek piece and it seemed to straighten it out to my eye. Thanks for the responses

Gotcha- glad the cheek pad helped some at least. My local club has a 500 yard line and I shoot it pretty regularly with a .308 and a .22-250.
