over a year and you're lucky on a motorcycle battery... i buy mine at Advance Auto, less than 40 bucks , depends on which one you need... my last one was 28.00

The first bike i ever bought new was a Vulcan that did that. I had to change out the factory plugs and had someone change out a coil type thing on it. fixed it immediately.

Get a trickle charger and leave it on the bike whenever you're not riding it for an extended period of time. The battery will last much longer.

I agree about the battery, but I would also change the fuel filter.
Fuel filter getting clogged can cause a delay like that as the system struggles to build proper pressure.

(Lots of trash and crap in fuel these days. It is instructive to take a look at the bottom on a gas can after you fill it up. Amazing how much crap finds it way in there.)
