We've all had one. That shot that you made and shouldn't have. The one that your buddies couldn't believe. Lets hear some of yours.
Here's mine from this week. Nothing spectacular and I'm sure many of you could do it 99% of the time without even thinking about it. I'm not one of those guys. I'm more of a "minute of watermelon" shooter.
My son and a few of his buddies were shooting 22's out in the woods on Wednesday. My wife said it was dinner time so I hopped on the 4 wheeler and rode out to get them for dinner. When I found them they were trying to shoot a penny that was pinched in a stump. They were about 25'-30' away and trying to hit it with an old 22lr Luger. I watched them for a minute then told them to come on back to the house to eat since they obviously weren't going to be shooting any dinner any time soon. They started in on me and finally dared me to try it. Without blinking I quickly pulled my XD9 pointed in the general direction, fired and reholstered. Then I just rode away without saying anything. I was shocked, I knew I had hit it and that there was no way in hell I could ever repeat that if they wanted me to do it again. When they got back to the house they were still talking about it and my son had snapped this picture. His friends think I'm some sort of gunslinger, I still can't believe I hit it, it was not skill, it was 10000% luck.
For the record, the penny went flying. They put it back where it had been lodged for the pic.
