Nah, for me it is about penetration. I had rather have a round go 3 or 4 inches deeper than a round open up a few millimeters.

45 yes i can see but a fast moving 9mm through and through little wound cavity and kinetic energy deposit dont you think. ?

Also, have tried the Hydrashock by federal in .40 and those are pretty sweet. Recoil was less than target loads.

so in a fast reaction tense situation having to use your weapon your going to get direct hits to the heart, head ,spine? yes its possible but most of the time its going to be center mass shots and then kinetics plays a big part a 44mag in the 6" area AROUND the heart would be fatal from the shock wave. not to say your not a great shot and cool under pressure just throwing out some variables for any situation

Nah, I am old and slow. Chances are I am going to be shot in a fire fight and I know it. I just really hate to lose. So I got that going for me.

and bypass please dont get me wrong im not disputing the fact that fmj will do the trick im just trying to figure out should i buy into the hype of the whole jhp/and proclaimed self defense rounds or is my range ammo gonna do it for me, $$ is a big factor as well 20rd box of the hornadys is around $23-25 and i could get near 100 rounds fmj so im not arguing with you im trying to get some more option

Winchester Ranger SXT in 9mm or .45. Or Golden Sabre in the same calibers. I carry them all. Oh, and one mag full of 9mm Black talons.....just in case
