308 ar10 but no 223.so I stand at yes with a 308 AR
If you said anything but lmt, youre wrong
Just out of curiosity I would love to see entry/exit wounds and/or wound channels on any of your .458 SOCOM deer kills. Would also like to know range of shot and distance game traveled.
Got a deal in the works for a 6.8 SPC.
Seems to be an impressive following and tons of positive results from that round in the AR hunting world.
Seems the round is #2 in sales compared to .223/5.56 so it must be popular and must be pretty impressive.
The guy I'm getting it from says it drops them dead in their tracks even at 200 yards.
It's just a 18 inch bull barrel. Just the right length for a real heavy barrel. 20 inch barrels are good for hunting also but get a little heavy when you start adding metal to them.
I know that's right!! Mines 24" SS BBL (Heavy as well it's heavy) but fun from a stationary position , let my teens carry that one around.
I want a falkor petra 300wm
I lusted after a .308 lwrc repr. I finally traded into one and topped it with a leupold mark 4 4.5-16x50.
I'm pretty sure it weighs more than most of the deer I've seen. I can't imagine having to lug that big bastard and a deer out of the the thick stuff.
I've killed deer with a .223. Bullet selection is key.
I've also killed deer with a 300rum. That's the only way to fly- if you do it just right... the deer will be dressed and caped before it hits the ground!
Not a build but this will do.
Memo Omen 300 Win Mag.
I'll just stick with my LR308/Nikon budget setup for now. It kills them just fine. This setup has gone 5-for-5 this season.
