I went with Remington, just because that's what I grew up using. But Savage is a very very close second.

Mine is a Ruger M77 Ultralight in .308 Winchester with a Leupold VXII 3-9 x 40 scope. The whole package fully loaded with sling is just a hair over 6 lbs!!

I toted heavy rifles in my younger day. This fat old man likes the Ultralight!! I'll pay the price when I pull the trigger!!
