What's your opinion when it's time to retire Hulls?
Traditionally, I prefer AA and typically retire/pitch them after 2 or 3 reloads.
I recently came across a large batch of the old style AA from the 80's or before.
It's true the quality is much better than the AA manufactured today.

That being said several have splits and/or pin holes around the crimp.
Reloading these are a bit out of my comfort zone and value your opinion.

Best,
Charles

When they start talking about the good ole days, saying things "aren't what they use ta be", or shaking a fist at the neighbor kids shouting "get off my lawn"!

Appreciate your feedback....These have at 2 or three pin holes or splits which confirms not to reload them.

I'd load the hulls in the picture in a heartbeat. Until you shot a piece off the crimp, or split the case you are good to go.

The "old" AA were one piece hulls, Section one and see if the plastic is one piece. Loading normal moderate velocity target loads, you can easily reload them 10 times. i shot a lot of sporting clays with a semiauto and would usually lose them before they became unusable.

Slow burning powders will eat up your hulls much faster than a faster powder,

It's hard to believe but as long as the shell will crimp, the condition of the crimp is pretty irrelevant to performance.
